Happy Birthday!!

Aunt S's (my lil' sis) and her husband Uncle R's B-days are this week. Originally they were going to get their own seperate Happy B-day posts....but as you can tell from the lack of blogging life has been busy....I promise I will try to catch up here in the next week or so. Anyway.....on to the purpose of the post!

Happy Birthday Aunt S!!! Aunt S's B-day is September 1st! I remember being so excited the day she was born, I remember getting to announce that I had a new baby sister to my class. We had a substitute that day and the substitute made me stand on my desk to announce it. If you know me very well...you would know that that is TOTALLY not my style!

Aunt S was a very stubborn, "her way or the highway", kinda little girl. She was very particular about everything. She did NOT want to have, and I quote, "Fat Lady Hair" and she insisted on having "Pancake Socks!" She probably still holds the record for most tardies for an afternoon kindergartner at our elementary school. Her teacher knew it was a bad day when Aunt S walked in with red puffy eyes, and her "high to the sky" bangs not quite as high and plastered with hairspray as usual....she did not even have to ask why Aunt S was late....she knew....it was a BAD HAIR DAY!!I blame Aunt S for my compulsive need to play with Sweet E's hair....I was deprived as a child...I never got to play with my sisters hair....now I have to make up for lost time :-P (J/K).

Aunt S was, and still is, good at anything and everything. She was good at sports, she was good in school, she was cute and had tons of friends. She set her standards high and would not settle for anything less. She was a hard worker, she single-handedly kept all note card makers in business in high school with all of her flashcards she would make to study for tests. I always secretly admired her, and still do.

My senior year of high school I started spending a lot more time with Aunt S. Big B was on his mission and Aunt S became my constant side kick. I took her everywhere. We really grew close over the course of the next few years. She let me help her get ready for all of her school dances, we would go shopping together, and most of all we just had fun! If you know Aunt S at all you know that you are bound to die laughing at something she will say....it never fails to happen.

When Aunt S was getting ready to start college, Big B and I were with her on a special night. The night she meet Uncle R. I remember that night very well.....

I had known Uncle R for a long time....I had gone to pre-school with his older brother. I remember playing "Cowboys and Indians" at his house when he was just a baby. However, pre-school was the last time that I had direct contact with Uncle R. I knew his family, he came from a good family, and I had heard good things about him....but I could not really say I "knew" Uncle R that fateful night that he asked my little sister to dance. Needless to say I have had lots of opportunities to get to know Uncle R over the last few years. Uncle R is Mr. Connections! You need something....he knows someone. He is always willing to help everyone and anyone. He was Sweet-E's first true love! But most importantly he has made my little sister one happy girl! So he is a pretty good guy in my book.
So this special week in September....we want to wish two very special people a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We LOVE you and are so grateful you are part of our family!! Here is to another FABULOUSLY FANTASTIC year!!

Thanks so much Shanna! That was such a sweet birthday wish... The best one of the day! I love you so much! Oh ya... I would have died to have Emma hair. You should have beat me and forced me to let you do my hair. I would have been one foxy kindergartener...seriously. Rob says the post was "super nice" as well.
